Stepping the Mast-Cal 31
John & Julie Stacklyn2014-02-18 13:46 UTC
Getting a bottom job next week and need to un-step the mast to do some
wiring. Plan is to use a tree service with a bucket truck; any tips and
tricks greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

have 3 or 4 saw horses to keep mast up off ground...
this will make easier working also put 1in PVC
for wire harness inside mast ...have all rigging
ready to "POP"...so that you can get mast down quickley
run one line from speaders flanges and a 2nd line
top 5ft of mast to the bucket...third line from base
that you can steer ....leave boom on deck with sail and cover...remember if the tree guy yells "Timber" run like heck... edward
