Inboard retrofit - crazy?

Hi all, my T/2 was ordered as an inland lake racer and never had an inboard installed. I'm looking for a boat to keep at the NC coast, but I can't afford two boats. I really love my old Cal and she's in great shape (fresh water boat), and would prefer to just keep/move her, but I really would like an inboard for coastal work.
What would we be talking about to retrofit an inboard, and would it be way more trouble than it would be worth?

I assume the boat will need EVERYTHING, such as a new engine bed,
stern tube, prop strut, shaft and prop, fuel system, cooling system,
exhaust system, ventilation system, control system, etc etc. If you will
be hiring the work, and installing all new engine and associated parts,
expect to spend about $16 to $18K. You can save about 1/3 of that by
doing the work yourself. You can save more by installing used or
reconditioned parts.
A 10hp diesel will easily drive her to hull speed.
Call me if you need further information.
