CAL 34-III: Anodized Aluminum Cross Beam?

Dear Cal Boat Group: I am thinking about buying a CAL 34-III. Is it possible to find out if the anodized aluminum crossbeam that the mast rests on is corroded by looking at it. And is there a way to view the crossbeam from inside the cabin? Should I be worried about buying the boat because of the aluminum crossbeam? I have a Cal34, 1971. Does anyone know if this model has a Cross Beam? hey guys I thought all Cals 29, cal 34, cal 36 have metal beams (except hull # 1-4 which have wood ?)
