Anyone out there replaced a broken shifter cable on a Cal 33-2. Engine model 3gm30f. Mine snapped at the shifter control yesterday. Managed to sail her into my slip. Jeep Cal 33-2 Moonraker

Yes, we replaced the cable on ours several years ago. Ours were a standard Morse Cable (red Jacket). The cable lengths are stamped on one end. I had to remove the cable since the end with the length was in the pedestal, not at the engine. These are standard lengths and should be available from local marine stores (power boats and work boat use the same cables) The trick is getting the cable clamp about mid way down the pedestal loose. I eventually had to dis-assemble the wheel drive cable and chain drive to have clear access. A PO had cut holes in the pedestal for a previous repair, but access was easier after remove of the wheel and drives.
