ICW Help Needed

pw… [at] aol.com2014-06-25 18:45 UTC
I've got a buddy with a Bristol 40 whose engine went up on his way to St. Augustine and he is at a marina in NC that charges $2 per foot per day to be in the water. (I am awaiting an email to tell me exactly where he is and what model Westerbeke he has) He needs to be hauled for a new engine and needs to get it done at a reasonable rate. He has already been raked over the coals by a couple of people down there ($500 to install a solenoid on his starter and wasn't even done right). His plan was to live on his boat while he looked for a house to buy down there and this episode has put a major monkey wrench in his plans. If anyone needs anymore details, let me know and I'll add that to the next email with location and engine model #. Thanks in advance - Paul

I am guessing that you are asking for assistance in regards to your friends engine problems. Not sure referring to us as "of people down there" is a good way to start. Everyone down here is not out to "rake over the coals" your friend. So of may even be able to repair something right. Let us down here know where your friend is and we may be able to recommend someone that can handle his repair competently and at a fair price.
