Chris, Words well spoken. My prayers goes out to the family. Sound like he led a very rich life. It's great to live a long life, but to me it is important for how I live it. I have a saying,,,, The number of years you mark on your stone is not important, but how you lived your dash. I firmly believe that we all should try to live life everyday to the fullest, with no regrets.... Glad to here that your new equipmental will be installed shortly! Enjoy! Have a great day everyone and please be safe! Well said Jim. "...we all should try to live life everyday to the fullest, with no regrets..." My sailing, cruising and racing life has been the "fullest" and I have few regrets. I met Jack Jensen and Bill Lapworth, but regret I did not seek more time with them. They were outstanding humans. Thanks Tom Vandiver, past owner Cal 20, Cal 25 and still have my Cal 46 after 32 years. I don't regret any day I have spent on my Cal Boats. I'm not famous, and far from wealthy, but extremely lucky. How do I know? Because I don't have much to regret. Oh, we all kick ourselves when we remember a few dumb decisions and stupid plans, but haven't we all known people who are crushed by their regrets and past choices? They spend their time grieving for things they did not attain or successes that eluded them. Maybe that's because most of them aren't out sailing or doing something else that is rewarding and challenging. I do regret not replacing the turnbuckle terminal on the Cal 20 before it broke, but that problem has been solved by the arrival of three nice new C.S. Johnson model 33-616 1/4-28 LH thread ends with toggles. The new toggle design is a big improvement. My only gripe is that whoever rigged my boat has the thread directions reversed, so operating the turnbuckles is a righty-loosey maneuver, completely counterintuitive and contrary to the action on my other boat. Was that a Jensen Marine choice, or a previous-owner decisoon? In any event, I am a lucky guy to have such minor woes to complain about. Chris Campbell Cal 20 #1220, Martha C.
