Water Heater Recommendations needed
pw… [at] aol.com2014-08-12 00:29 UTC
Looking like my water heater didn't survive the winter. Splashed late and just now about to do our first cruise and it appears it is leaking. I haven't yanked it out yet but I'm 90% sure it's gone.
Anybody have one they really like or know of a brand the stay the hell away from?
Thanks in advance -

This is what we always used when I was growing up. Worked pretty well.

Yeah I actually scalded myself with one of those once!
I need one that works in the dark though ;-)

You need the nighttime upgrade module to go with that: http://www.amazon.com/Granite-Ware-6006-1-3-Quart-Coffee/dp/B000RA3Z0K

Hi!
We use both, the heater and the bag.
Can¹t really help regarding brands, but whatever the better known retailers
have has worked for me.
For those with stinky hot water, I found out that when we make hot water and
let it sit for a week or so, it becomes a petri dish for little critters and
organisms. Took our heater out, filled it with a strong bleach solution, let
it sit for a day, and power flushed it, with all kinds of white powdery
stuff. No, we were not in Columbia It solved the problem!
Sadly, Cythera, our 1988 Cal 33 is for sail, err, sale. She¹ll be missed.
