We're Eaten
Through the portlight, wet and smeary,as we breakfast, eyes still bleary
while morning news we were catching, suddenly there came a scratching,
and sounds like tiny eggs a hatching, hatching, scratching at the
portlights, four.
"The bugs have found us!" I scream out, scratching at our portlights four
Small no-see-ums swarm the outside, hunting, scratching, wanting inside.
Hunting, searching round the coachroof, a crack is found and in they pour!
Franticly I search for Cutters, Off and DEET and old fly swatters
stored away in musty lockers. We thought we'd need then nevermore.
Some are lost, The rest don't work. When we provision at the store,we'll
have to purchase more and more.
