Sailing video

I was out sailing the Cal 20 last evening and the wind dropped, so I got
out the video camera to record the scene. You can see a bit of Grand
Traverse Bay on YouTube, here:

The wind was from the SSW when I started out then switched fairly
abruptly to the NE. At one point the big tourist schooner /Manitou/ was
sailing along on the same course as my boat but on a different tack.
The racing fleet was north of me and I wondered why they were sailing
close-hauled when i was on a broad reach. Eventually the wind settled
in the NNW and picked up notably just as I was trying to pick up my
mooring. I misgauged my carry the first time (the windage of sail and
spars stopped the boat much faster than expected) and I hit it just
right the second time. Sometimes with a north wind I'll use the
outboard because there's another moored boat very close to mine that
makes it more difficult to maneuver, but it was out sailing. As soon as
I picked up the mooring, the wind dropped.
