Tiller tamer

There was a discussion of tiller-holding devices recently and I joined
the group that praised the Davis Tiller Tamer friction device. Last
night the wind dropped to almost nothing as I was sailing back toward
the mooring so I took the time to snap a couple photos. I'll attach one
or two if the computer and Yahoo cooperate. On my tiller, the original
owner had added "cheeks" to give the Tiller Tamer a surface to stabilize
it. They were some light wood that needed refinishing and regluing so I
replace his pieces with mahogany. The device is mounted UNDER the
tiller--out of sight, mostly, and where the knob will not catch lines.
