Not sure I understand what you're asking. Could could what be a holding tank? For what its worth my boat is an 82 and has 2 @ 70 gal water tanks under the settees. There is a 40 gal fuel tank under the cockpit. The holding tank, when I got the boat, was a bladder under portside V. In my version nothing useful can fit in the bilge. It has the original 45 gallon stainless water tank under the starboard settee and a 45 gallon stainless diesel tank under the port one. When I bought it there was a 25 gallon water tank under the cockpit that I removed. I can't imagine that there is enough room for a water tank in the bilge. Could it be a holding tank for the head or a compartment for a big battery?

1980 MKII. Fuel to port, water starboard and aft of engine, all 50 gal. and all ALUMINUM. I doubt that you guys have stainless? Watch your fuel tanks, I had to replace mine as it was weeping. Corroded from the inside out, could've been catastrophic. Port tank AL, tho mine is a replacement AL built in 95. Starboard is Stainless, bit it has been converted to diesel. The boat was set up to come back from Mexico via the Baha Bash. It has also been back from Hawaii. It has a water maker, but it is pickled. i am not a fan of flexible water tanks, so I will probably remove my holding tank and put one there. Still thinking about it. Maybe I could get a pic of what these tanks under the cockpit look like? I don't see a lot of room there for those. Tom

Where is there room for a tank of any size in the bilge? I have an 83 Mk III and the bilges are just to shallow with the exception of 2 small areas under and just aft of the table in the salon?

Not sure what others have contributed, but I used a 4" PVC pipe T for my grey water tank because nothing off the shelf fit in the bilge. It doesn't really hold much (maybe one shower and a days of dishes), but allows me to have the drains of the AC, shower and ice box all get pumped overboard and not smell up my DRY bilge :). The difference in smell is amazing. Nick
