a healthy reminder

After visiting with a dermatologist recently and having a basal cell carcinoma removed and another spot frozen off, I feel called upon to remind folks to:.. get a skin checkup periodically.. wear sunscreen and protective clothing. Sailors are particularly susceptible due to additional exposure from reflected rays off the water. However, for everyone, better safe than sorry. Take care. Reggie,Funny you said that, I just made an appointment with my dermatologist today. I have something nasty looking on my back that wasn't there last March when I saw him. It's probably nothing, but I'm going to be sure. I have spots on my face and the top of my head that I get removed yearly. If not treated they can become cancerous. An ounce of prevention, etc. We who have spent our free time on the water need to be aware that there are consequences from being in the sun, especially if you're fair skinned.
