Port window replacement

david howe2015-10-16 17:04 UTC
I have one window that the plastic frame has broken pieces on the outside. It was leaking so I have pulled it off. Would like to keep the same shape but custom windows I bet are expensive. Repairing the existing is possible, I believe I can glue it. I have seen just the window material sealed with adhesive to the fiberglass and trim on the inside. What does everyone else do. I have a Cal 2-27 and it's the large fixed window. Anyone make their own? Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

This is all you’ll ever need to know about plastic windows for your Cal. Over the past 20 years Mark has been recommended and endorsed many times. I have a set in Nemesis. Hi, David. Have your tied Mark Plastics in Corona, CA. Mark Heacox has templates for all the old CALs, so it wouldn't be a "custom" job. I've used Mark's products before and am pleased. I caulk around the outside frame (not 5200), and install. When that is dry, I remove the inside frame, and go around the inside to fill any voids between the window/port and the uneven cut-out in the fiberglass. Liberal use of caulk. Frame covers it. Mark recommends Dow Corning 795 building sealant. On cal gal that product is flawless. > On Oct 16, 2015, at 10:25 AM, 'Charlie Husar' hu… [at] gmail.com [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > > > > > Hi, David. Charlie - think he'd have the templates for Cal 39 opening ports? Hi, Paul. Are your opening ports sliders or flip-outs. I’ve only ever seen sliders there. But what the heck if you have flip-outs. Give him a call or drop an E-Mail. Good guy. Went through his place about 10 years ago. Many sets of CAL 25 windows for the Annapolis Fleet from there. Mark Plastics Mark Heacox 369 E.
