Re: [Cal_Boats] Monterey owners? - CAL 25-2
ahhh.
Indeed. I assumed Cal owners might reply, generally.
Oops. Thank you for pointing that out.
So far, I have been reading them all. Someone almost always has something useful to say...if I listen.

Tom, I think it would help to put CAL 2-25 (or 25-2) into your message title. A lot of the group members read mails selectively. I know we have a number of 2-25s in the assembled multitude.

Thank you.
I have not seen one reply. But that's fine. I have heard good things about the boat and I believe there are a few in the SF and Monterey bay areas.
I'll bump into someone..maybe literally!
: )
I do intend to get out this weekend!
Thanks.

Subject: [Cal_Boats] monterey owners?
Hello,
I’m new to the group, new to Cal ownership and new to sailing. I just picked up a Cal 25-2, in Monterey, Ca.
I’m learning quite a bit about her by massaging her every surface.
However, are there any other Cal 25 owners that would come have a look and point out things to me?
I’m not looking for a survey, she’s mine, regardless.
Or maybe I can come see yours?
For example, there seems to be something missing from the bow..beneath the pulpit. I don’t know what is SUPPOSED to be there but something is missing.
Also, rubrails. Is there a reasonable source for them?
And I know I need to R-R the starboard jib sheet track and reseal. It leaks.
I also was able to rebuild the starboard jib winch. Yuck. What a mess that was…WAS. Now, spins like new.
Thanks for anything you can or choose to offer.
I don’t have much to offer, yet. I’m new.
Last weekend I learned what a jibe was…because I did it, unwillingly. “Hey. Duck. You’re jibing. Did you want to?”
And..”Oh, I guess we’re going to tack now because you just came about. Was that intentional?”
Yes, I was at the tiller. Bu my instructor/partner was letting me make those mistakes.
: )
Thank you
