Frozen Water

Chris,Here in Chicago we have no snow and ice, was 40 here today. Supposed to get a dusting overnight, but that's about it. Since my wife can't xc ski anymore I don't mind not having any.David Dobbs CAL29 411

Hardly seems right to do this..but i will, simce we're doing weather reports. Sat on Monterey Bay. Easy breeze..6-12 kts...water had swells also in that range, 8-12 foot with 13-15 sec periods. Was slow sailing..but fun...and safe! Today..much better...flatter sea..8-12 kt easterly breeze..Blew out of Moss Landing almost all day. I set a course...could have made Santa Cruz. I was ripping...6 + kts....1 turn....when i came home. I set auto-tiller and throttled with the jib. Saw 2 whales 50 off my beam...was spectacular! Tom, we believe it, a few more days expected. Since we can't get out due to shoal, we're going to do a haul out in harbor yard. In 9 days. Hope this weather holds. I would never survive in the great lakes, every year Chris shaŕes his winters with the list I shiver, and think about owning a boat you can't use or even go have a hot chocolate upon..we have it so good out here. Helen, you are welcome to come down. I can make time to go. If anyone wants to sail out of Monterey Bay and is willing to school me...please..lets go. But i will be expcting input. :-) Its a '78 2-25 and she is solid!
