blockquote, div.yahoo_quoted { margin-left: 0 !important; border-left:1px #715FFA solid !important; padding-left:1ex !important; background-color:white !important; } I've been doing that for years, I remember having problems at the Dania Beach Blvd bridge, been overpowered by the current, but I wasn't the only one that day

I think the only time the outboard does not preform well is in a heavy
seaway.
If you are out and the wind pipes up 25-50, plan on sailing.
you may be able to power up to 30, but the sea state will be the deciding
factor.
I knew you were going to ask about the height I cut mine. I dont know off
hand, but I will check when I get a chance.
It may be a week or so.

I am considering cutting the transom and using a 15hp. I am planning on a 2 stroke, but was wondering if you guys think a 4 stroke would be ok, found a good deal on one from a friend. Thanks for the info and thoughts.
