Cal 27 Mark III: Source for hard water tank under starboard settee (or port settee)?
David Field2016-06-30 14:06 UTC
Can anyone respond with the source for a hard water tank that will fit the space under the starboard settee? If not, how about the port settee?DavidCal 27 Mark III

David,I had Ronco build me a holding tank some years ago, resonably priced I think. I think they're in California, google them.David Dobbs CAL29 411

Another option is to make your own wood/epoxy tank. We made one as a
holding tank on the local schooner and as far as I know it's still in
service decade or more later. If it can hold human waste, it ought to
do pretty well with water. This one is under the captain's berth so
integrity was very important. It replaced an aluminum tank and we
actually gained some volume because we made it fit the irregular space
better.
The only caution is to add baffles and to over-engineer it, and maybe
also to mount it to allow some isolation from the boat's structure.

www.plasticwatertanks.com http://www.plasticcwatertanks.com they source Ronco tanks. I have purchased a couple of black water tanks from them, including a really weird shaped one for my Cal 30. Their catalog has hundreds of tanks. I am not affiliated with them.
