Spruce spreaders
he… [at] sbcglobal.net2016-09-14 17:22 UTC
We received a spreader from a 36 owner, and made fir temporaries, turned out too short. After taking down one pair, mast standing, we made sitka spruce lowers, penetrating epoxied, then painted with 2 coats of rustoleum white. A dockmate fabricated a new set of tips and our rigger put those up, we recut the temps to fit uppers, they're still up as he then raced Pac Cup. Ultimately we have a set of spruce and extra wood. Thickness more than a 3/4 board, had to buy the 2 inch roughsawn and mill down. If our misfits are longer than yours, I can send them. (No finish on) sitka spruce is white, and went yellow with the epoxy. We like the totally white spreaders, but the varnish bottoms look classy. Helen

Hello Helen,
I have a Cal 34 that needs new spreaders. I am interested in the Sitka ones you have. Can you measure your length? I believe they will fit my boat.
I have a account with Fedex and UPS.
