Dodger for older Cal 28

I have a Cal 2-30 and was quoted $4,000 from a couple of places in the SF Bay Area, with a long wait. My dodger was less than half that, shipped. Waiting for it to arrive. They were easy to deal with, and I trust my source. We'll see when it arrives and I install it. Even if it's not as fancy, I'll be happy to have something functional and the local price was a no-go.

$2K for a dodger is excessive, $1,000. to about $1300. is much more in line.That is for a two bow without zip-off wings. It depends on whether you use 7/8" aluminum or 1" stainless for the frame. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the aluminum frame is just fine. While the stainless is stronger, the strength is seldom an issue unless one consistently uses the frame as a handhold. If you want to do the work yourself, or have a friend with a suitable sewing machine, you can build a very high quality dodger for about $700. with this kit from Sailrite.
