Pathfinder mechanic in the SF Bay Area

I need the PM replacement of the timing belt. I have tried lots on companies and indepentents. Chuck's Marine, Outboard Motor Shop, H&M, independents, etc. no luck. The beta marine dealer in Sausalito was the only person who said they would do it but the cost is higher since this is not their specialty. Does anyone know someone? Send them my way please. I don't really get people reluctance. It is an diesel and I have the manuals and special tools required.

Try Brian @ British Marine in Oakland. (510) 534-2757 Brian has done maintenance on my Perkins 4-108. Not sure if he will work on Pathfinders but worth checking. Jeff Thayer S/V Ecco Cal 39 Mk2 San Francisco, ca

The 50hp Pathfinders are based on the VW Rabbit diesel engine. Any independent VW mechanic can change and tension a timing belt. I'll bet some would be willing to make a "house call" if you sweeten the deal with a day on the water for them and a significant other. Sadly, the only two I know live in L.A. and one is somewhere on the Pacific Crest Trail right now.
