Any Cal 33-2 owners have this info?

NEWMAN2017-04-17 15:33 UTC
Wife and I were motoring across to Onancock this past weekend (no wind Friday) and I noticed a water leak coming from the stern. I was checking on my new muffler install to make sure it wasn't leaking anywhere and saw water trickling from the stern. The stern squats while motoring, so I figured it must be one of those mushroom head thru-hulls leaking that are positioned on the bottom, just above water line. Anyway, crawling back there I did find one of the thru hulls seeping water. It is one of the four that are normally above water line when the boat is sitting and they are under the transom. Does anyone know the sizes of those thru hulls? It is the ones where they are matched pairs on each side. One larger, one smaller. I didn't have a tape at the time to measure and then forgot before leaving the boat Sunday evening after our return to port. Looks like the larger is maybe 1 1/2" and the smaller 1" ?? I want to replace all four and would order today if I knew the sizes so I could install on return to the boat. Will have to take a swim to do the swap, but I have a wetsuit. Thanks for any help, Leslie Puffin 1986 Cal 33-2

Assuming these are IPS-size thruhulls: 1" = 1.315" OD 1-1/4" = 1.660" OD 1-1/2" = 1.900" OD 2" = 2.375" OD On Apr 17, 2017 10:34, "NEWMAN d2… [at] gmail.com [Cal_Boats]" < Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > > Wife and I were motoring across to Onancock this past weekend (no wind > Friday) and I noticed a water leak coming from the stern. Thanks. What I meant was, does anyone know the sizes of the thru-hulls used in the 1986 Cal 33-2? I want to order and replace all four fittings and did not measure them. Slipped my mind as we loaded up to drive home on Sunday. Two hour drive one way to the boat. Two fittings are large, two are small. I suspect 1" and 1 1/2", but not sure unless I take the drive. I suspect I am taking the drive. I did this several years ago on our cal 33. I am 4 hours from the boat or any records I may have written down. We replace ours during a haul out, so I could verify the hole size and buy appropriately. All six thru hulls are nylon mushroom head. Each side has cockpit drain, locker drain, and bilge pump outlet. My thru-hulls were cracked due to uv deterioration. Some actually broke removing the holes or inside nuts. I replaced with Marlon in lieu of the vinyl. If I remember correctly, the local west marine had shelf stock of what I needed. John, Thanks. I guess I can hope that our local West Marine down near the boat has some on hand when I drive to the boat. I wish I had replaced them this year before putting her in. I almost did, but thought oh I'll do it next year. This year saw the new cabin sole go in and after all that work I was ready for a break. Of course now one fitting is leaking. On my boat I see two on each side on the bottom. One comes out the transom opposite site the exhaust outlet.
