We keep Jambalaya on the Bohemian River at the head of the Chesapeake.
Essentially fresh water. We use Pettit Hydrocoat ablative and love it. One
coat applied every two years (we haul every other winter) and while we do
get some slime, there's no weed or hard growth. I particularly like the low
VOCs and easy wash up with water. Very easy to work with. We never scrub
while in the water (well, hardly ever).
Strictly cruising; boat use is much less than I'd like (but isn't that often
the case?)

Charlie,
I keep Panache on Oneida lake NY. I have been using VC17 for over 10 years
and have been very happy with it.
