Any engine geek? Spot what's wrong

Hi all, there is apparently something wrong with how the 'arm' (or whatever it is called) on top of tbe picture is mounted to the engine. See the blue arrow I made on the pic. Zoom in and you'll see that there is a bolt hole with a bit of rust. Someone here claims that it should be tightened to the engine but we have no clue what or where. It's a Yanmar 4JH4AE, 54 HP. Anyone knows? Any help is appreciated. As always: thanks for your time! Bart

It appears that It's an alternator bracket but hard to tell where it goes from the photo. > On Oct 25, 2017, at 12:58 AM, Bart van Halteren b_… [at] outlook.com [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > Yanmar 4JH4AE

Still thinking about this...I wonder if the bolt is supposed to go through that hole in the bracket...possible someone reattached it incorrectly? Why do i say that? Because its rusty, suggesting that it was mounted in the past and and paint was rubbed off. If you find that you cant pivot the alternator very much, that might be the case. Just a thought... > On Oct 25, 2017, at 3:05 AM, t d tb… [at] gmail.com [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > It appears that It's an alternator bracket but hard to tell where it goes from the photo. > > > On Oct 25, 2017, at 12:58 AM, Bart van Halteren b_… [at] outlook.com [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > > > Yanmar 4JH4AE >
