Cal 33-2 Tachometer problem fixed
NEWMAN2017-11-20 10:56 UTC
Thanks to those that had replied regarding my tachometer problem. The tach
was reading low and surging. It was a connection problem. The two wires
that connect to the tach sending unit on the engine were faulty. The spade
connectors needed to be replaced as the wire on one was broken at the
connector and not making good connection. Was simple fix of soldering new
connectors, cleaning the terminals on the sender and slipping the
connectors into place. Tach now reads rock solid RPM.

Thanks for update, Leslie. Just wanted to drop a note for Lanocote (or other anhydrous lanolin). A dab in each crimped connection (when crimping) and a dab on each spade or other electrical connection (when connecting) does wonders. Same stuff to be used on stainless screw to aluminum connections.
Cheers
