If we are ever able to get to the pics on Yahoo again I'd take Allen up on his offer. Thanks Allen! As far as Facebook is concerned, I don't think it has to take the place of Yahoo but the page is already there and there are people posting on it so it's a done deal. I personally will monitor both. As mentioned before, the problem with Facebook is that w/o proper settings you it's like walking down a dark alley talking to your friend about something personal. Then all the dogs (people) start barking from behind the fences and you can hear them but have no idea who they are and they can bark as loud as they want because you can't get to them. As far as that goes, how many times have people said they've "lurked" on this site for years but never said anything for whatever reason. Granted it's not the level of Facebook but you get my point . . . it's the interweb. I think they try and do a pretty good job. They have a groups offering that some of my groups have switched to from Yahoo. I don't know why they switched. I have nothing against Yahoo and think staying there as long as it is possible is a great idea.. If anyone wants to scrape the Yahoo Cal Boats site and forward it to me, I am happy to post it on L-36.com and would make it searchable if Yaooo leaves us high and dry. Since 1997 I published around 500 individual web pages. Over the years I saw several message board providers like yhaoo come and go. And when they go, they take everything with them. Egroups comes to mind. I had hundreds of people on different school alumni sites. Whole web sites of collected memories and messages disappeared. Imagine the loss here if all messages in the database were no longer available. This group has search capabilities not available on FB. But if you think Yahoo is safe, check this out. I am sure you are aware of it. For historical records purposes, it would be nice if the entire site could be saved. Kind of like Lapworth giving all of his plans to that boat museum back east, where they are only available at a cost. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/14/technology/yahoo-hack.html
