There's the "Lapworth Letter" for tuning the rig on a Cal 36. http://www.richardanderson.net/TechSavvy/CAL_BOATS_files/Lapworth%20Letter%20regarding%20Tuning%20and%20Trim.pdf It works fairly well on a Cal 2-27, though I tighten the lowers so the leeward lower isn't flopping about. I've also tightened to 10% of breaking strength with a Loos gauge in the past, and that's probably tighter than need be. Harold BeerArcturusCal 2-27Muskegon, MI

Thanks Harold. I am trying to adjust the mast to stop the upper shroud from touching the aft edge of the entry hole in the mast just below the masthead. No real chafe on the shroud or wear on the mast yet based on an inspection, but I'd like to get it adjusted before I have a problem. I have a rigger here (Mexico) and will work on the problem with him. Thanks again, Frank On Thursday, April 19, 2018, 12:49:58 PM MST, Harold Beer ha… [at] yahoo.com [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: There's the "Lapworth Letter" for tuning the rig on a Cal 36. http://www.richardanderson.net/TechSavvy/CAL_BOATS_files/Lapworth%20Letter%20regarding%20Tuning%20and%20Trim.pdf It works fairly well on a Cal 2-27, though I tighten the lowers so the leeward lower isn't flopping about.
