I also have had one now for 13 years It is going to bury the rail at 15 but you can just reef. I do love it It is roomy, sails well / is fun, and can sleep a family of 4 Comfortably but cruising in open water may be asking too much I stay in puget sound and when the wind gets above 17 I don’t sail it although if I wanted to reef Heavily i probably could still manage. That’s just not my version of fun In puget sound in the summer the problem is not enough wind more than too much FYI: works good for crabbing too ! Chris Poulsbo , Wa

I furl or reef my 31 above 15 knots, but have sailed in 25 with gusts to 35 with a double reefed main and furled jib. Harleigh,I agree, my 29 likes to be on her feet, sails fastest when balanced. Shorten sail early and keep her upright.
