Oil for A30M Farymann diesel

Putting 50 weight oil in a Farymann A30M is a BIG mistake. This engine has a roller bearing rod & crank, and is dip/splash lubricated. It is NOT a pressurized oil system. You should be using 20 weight DIESEL GRADE oil, or 10W 30 weight, as per the manual. It's such a supportive group, one's input cannot help but be appreciated. Buying a boat this old with the quirks and challenges is so much more rewarding than marching down to the store and buying a boat by its catalog picture and the rumors about it's virtues.
