My theory is that small boats get sailed more than big boats. Last night the latest issue of /Practical Sailor/ arrived. It has a piece on buying/restoring salvage sailboats. It had the usual warning about there being nothing more expensive than a free boat. But this one looks like it could be a low-cost entry into fun sailing. Chris Campbell > > > >

Cute boat, Boston whaler but keel bolts, not encapsulated like most Cals. If you really like it Tom, you should haul it out and check that keel, and bailers could have marine life grown up to stop ball from freely moving. See if leakage is hard or easy to fix, winter's coming. Is there a trailer(lot to ask for free boat) but you might need one. Hope you're getting in some sailing back there. The surge we're getting in Santa Cruz is really hard on the dock lines. We sailed around some humpbacks and some black dolphins (looked almost like orcas) last time out. The sea lions stayed tight with the wharf that day. Tour boats, catamarans and Chardonnay radio back and forth building excitement for their riders. We decided to go back in, cal 2-27 no match for whale. Weak winds these days too. Helen, Ex-indigo 2-27 and Caliente 36. Helen, I saw a humpback on two occasions in the past week. Both times in the same area, the head of Tacoma Narrows, where the sockeye concentrate while heading into the south sound. Plenty of seals around, looking for the same free meal. It’s been a great fall in the PNW. Fred Haas 3-30 Nemesis, Tacoma 81 days and counting away from the dock this year. > On Oct 31, 2018, at 9:29 AM, Helen Horn he… [at] sbcglobal.net [Cal_Boats] <Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com> wrote: > > Cute boat, Boston whaler but keel bolts, not encapsulated like most Cals.
