Reggie, I did not have this problem but I recall a long thread years ago
when the late Brian Cleverly wrote a series of posts about replacing the
fiberglass rudder tube and joining it at the top and bottom. Sadly, that
thread appears to be long gone, but I was surprised to see that Brian's
website is still up. Here's a post and a photo of his repair on his own
boat; it involves cockpit drain tubes, but the problem is essentially the
same as for a rudder tube:
