It is snowing today in my part of Michigan. I rode the winter bike to
work today. I have been varnishing the tiller of my Cal 20 in the
evenings. Most of the ice has gone out of our Bay.

It was 87 degrees yesterday here in North West Florida. I worked outside all day in shorts & T shirt. No Cal Boat work as 2 other of our boats had sank due to all the cloudy & rainy weather. They are both open boats, No engines, but have solar panels for the battery which only powers the automatic bilge pump. Clouds did not allow adequate charging.
Normally with this type weather, I supervise closely and hook up a battery charger, but age (80) & health challenges have slowed me down. I must get to work on our Cal Cruising 46 as I can never go cruising again & I must sell her after 37 years of loving this boat. As soon as I complete the cosmetics, I will post pictures and asking price.

It was in the 70s last 2 days around sf bay and Monterey bay, but blowing in the 40 knot range. Very large sailboats on sf bay by GG bridge. Waves at the point there. Near moss landing Monterey bay,
opening of sport salmon let my daughter bring in 2. Santa Cruz harbor repaving the launch ramp over night on 15th. We'll be taking out the 2-27for a sail within a week, all systems checked and ready. In SF bay, opening day on bay for boaters is end of April. South bay boaters will have a day on May 4 and 5. But no parade as prime movers, Peninsula yacht club has lost its building for condo construction. The other clubs are only doing open/,house food type events. A few of us may just do a sail around anyway. Too sad. Helen and Edward (missing the Caltopias of the Lessley era in SF bay)
