Many thanks for posting the cal 34 manual. We have been looking for a manual for our 77 3/34, and this helps in several areas. It would be graet if everyone with a manual would post it like you did. Somebody said "hey, did you see the Cal 40 over in the travellift slip" and there it was. The owner's name will come to me. He was commodore of the local yacht club at some point. His boat usually looks pretty good, not fetishist-perfect but attention-is-paid good. The boomkin is a handsome piece of metal work. I just finished reading the recent book "Sloop" by Daniel Robb, described here: http://books.simonandschuster.com/9780743202398 It's a pleasant account of a guy rebuilding his family's 1939 Herreshoff 12-1/2.
