Yahoo groups closing
an… [at] gmail.com2019-10-16 22:21 UTC
Hi, I'm new to the group, but I wanted to make sure that you know that Yahoo is no longer hosting group content starting in three weeks, and new content will no longer be accepted after the 28th of this month. Is there any plan to relocate the group to another email list service? There are several available (groups.io looks good and has import capabilities, for example).
I'd hate to see the knowledge here lost, so I think its important to start looking for a new home.
Oh, and hello. I'm Matt. I don't have a boat yet, but I hope to buy one soon, and I'm hoping it's a Cal.

I just read the Yahoo details and it looks like Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com
will continue as a reflector it is just the website that is closing. So you
all have set up a forum to hold photos and such but I am unclear of you
plan to use that for sharing your stories and asking for solutions to
problems or if you will continue to use the Cal_Boats yahoo group.

Allen, the forum at https://calsailors.com is for asking questions, sharing
solutions and having conversations just like this email group. I believe
that you'll still be able to send emails through this group, but you won't
be able to share photos or documents. A benefit of the forum is that all
the info will be saved on the website without the threat of closing and
losing content.
